Summary : This paper analyzes the radiation efficiency of a flexible rectangular patch, curved by length and width. The approach uses the cavity model and uses boundary conditions to theoretically decline the radiation efficiency as a function of the radius of curvature. The theoretical results are in agreement with those of simulation and measurement. Note that the curvature of the patch along the length degrades the effectiveness but it improves significantly for the curvature according to the width. This result is explained by a reduction in the amplitude of the electric field inside the cavity (stored energy decreases) for curvatures along the width, with the opposite behavior for curvatures along the length.
