Modelling the notch antenna based on the spectral domain approach

Name of the conference: Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference (LAPC)

Date of publication: 2018

Abstract: This paper deals with a theoretical model for predicting the input impedance of a conventional notch antenna operating over the first two resonant modes. The model is a general transmission-line-based network whose parameters (radiation conductance, open-end capacitance, short-end inductance, suspended-line characteristics) are theoretically derived based on the spectral domain approach. Various antenna sets printed over two different substrates (FR4, Rogers RT/Duroid 6006) are considered for validations. The proposed model showed a good agreement with the Finite Element Method (FEM) with an overall relative error less than 5%.
